Meetings Training Course
In today’s world we spend a lot of time in meetings – team meetings, partnership meetings, steering group meetings, board meetings, network meetings and so the list goes on. But no one ever teaches us how to create an agenda so our meeting runs smoothly, how to write effective minutes and how to chair meetings to get results. McCrudden Training can do just that. We offer a range of ‘off-the-shelf’ meetings courses, or we can customise a course to meet your exact needs.
Mastering Meeting Minutes
This half-day meetings workshop explores the different ‘uses’ of meeting notes and the legal status of meeting minutes. Practical activities encourage participants to consider the way in which they take notes during meetings, and present some usual ideas to help delegates record meeting contents accurately. The session concludes with formats for presenting written notes and an evaluation of your own individual writing style.

Managing Meetings
Starting with the basics of what makes a good meeting and when not to meet, Managing Meetings training looks a step-by-step approach to planning an effective and productive meeting. The second half of this half day session considers the practicalities of meetings, building confidence to participate and the skills required to chair a meeting well (including managing less helpful behaviour from members).
Planning and Running Meetings
This one-day course gives a holistic view of meetings. The workshop explores the do’s and don’ts of planning and running successful meetings, from identifying a need to meet, to closing the meeting on time. Using practical exercises you will develop an understanding of meetings from the perspective of the chair, the note taker and the participants. The day will also look at the people skills behind successful meetings, including skills to manage your own participation, as well as taking succinct and accurate notes and appropriate formats for presenting minutes.
